Dr. Lang is an Instructor of Political Science at the University of South Carolina. Craig’s teaching and research interests focus on issues of conflict, peacebuilding, and international law within Latin America and Southeastern Europe. Most recently, he published an article in the Journal of Peacebuilding & Development that examined declining Colombian support for their 2016 peace accord. In addition to these topics, Dr. Lang also has active teaching and research interests related to U.S. foreign policy in Latin America.

Before earning his doctorate in Political Science from Florida International University, Craig served for a decade as a Foreign Affairs Officer with the U.S. Department of State. In this capacity, he developed and implemented U.S. foreign policy in North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Colombia. Craig previously taught at Franklin & Marshall College and Elizabethtown College.
